In late May and early June the glossy leaves, divided into three leaflets, are topped by small, white, five-petalled flowers. Like all Potentillas, this is a member of the rose family, but unlike so many members of that family it is generally trouble-free. In autumn the foliage turns deep burgundy, and sometimes bright red, and remains throughout the winter.
Groundcover, 4-6" tall.
Full sun or partial shade.
A fine native plant formerly,Potentilla tridentata. While the name has changed, the beauty of the plant certainly has not. This lovely little Cinquefoil makes a superb groundcover, 4-6 tall, in full sun or partial shade.
